Slow Sleep members work towards building genuine relationships with every person they come across – their staff, neighbourhood and guests. Prioritising local hiring, investing in their teams, creating safe and inspiring work environments, and sharing the island's culture with guests in respectful ways that feel authentic rather than staged.
Planet
From water to waste management, and energy use to sourcing supplies – Slow Sleep members are aware of the footprint they leave on the island and are actively working to reduce it. Not all members tick all boxes yet, but they’re are committed and taking steps to improve systems such as switching to solar and rainwater systems
Progress
Slow Sleep members strive to operate with integrity – fair employment, transparent pricing, and supply chains that favour local and small-scale producers. They are conscious of the role accommodation plays in gentrification and community displacement, and they work to be a force for stability rather than disruption.
